Yarie Vega is a young artist who studied plastic arts at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus. Since her beginnings in the artistic field, she has demonstrated an interest in delving to the roots and highlighting Puerto Rican culture. Many of her works explore the mix of races and their transcendence in current society. All of Yarie’s works seek to connect the viewer with nature and social reality. By means of eroticism, her engravings relate the lineage of taboos that stigmatize women and still prevail in our society. Yarie does not limit herself to a medium, but ventures between engravings, acrylic paintings and wood sculptures, achieving mastery in each technique.
