Diógenes Ballester’s extensive artistic trajectory has been developed in various media, such as painting, printmaking, drawing and installations. Using encaustic, he has developed a unique technique in his pieces. His works go far beyond inspiration: Diógenes calls himself an arteologist because in his artistic endeavors he positions himself as “helping to ferment and mature the connections that in contemporary art are linked to cultural identity, historical meaning and spiritual transformation”. His works project diverse cultures and spiritual rituals full of symbology. His artistic pedigree is not limited to the knowledge achieved in Puerto Rico. Diógenes has also traveled to other countries where he has spent seasons developing artwork, as well as participating in exhibitions.
